Lieutenant Colonel Shivnesh Kumar is an Army Logistician. He was
commissioned as a Quartermaster Officer in 2007 after graduating
from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Lieutenant Colonel Kumar has served in various locations and duty
positions across the United States and overseas. These include duty
with 506th Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky; 10th Special
Forces Group (Airborne), 1t Special Forces Command
(Airborne), Fort Carson, Colorado; and the Combined Arms Support Command, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia
His key development assignments have been with the Army Logistics University, Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia;
and 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, 25th Infantry Division, Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. Most recently,
Lieutenant Colonel Kumar served as the Chief, Red Hill Division, J4, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command, Camp H.M.
Smith, Hawaii.
Lieutenant Colonel Kumar's operational experiences were as a Platoon Leader during Operation Enduring
Freedom (OEF) '08-09; a Forward Support Company Executive Officer during OEF '10-11; and a Forward
Support Company Commander during Operation Freedom's Sentinel '16.
His military education includes the Quartermaster Officer Basic Course, the Combined Logistics Captains
Career Course, and the Army Command and General Staff College.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with an Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Meritorious
Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, Joint Service Commendation Medal,
Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge and Air
Assault Badge.
Lieutenant Colonel Kumar is married with three children.
