  • How do I obtain a visitors pass?
    • All vistors must complete the SIAD Form 1246 Visitor Request Form 6-24. When completed, fax the form to:
      530-827-4675 or email to usarmy.sierra.tacom.mbx.pass-and-id1@army.mil. Visitor Request forms must be submitted 48hrs, prior to your arrival.
    • All visitors must report to building 106 for a Visitor pass prior to entering the installation. Building 106 is located on the left upon initial entrance of the installation at the flashing sign.
    • The Pass & ID office is open 0600 to 1700, Monday through Thursday.
    • If you have any questions, please call 530-827-4108.

  • What are the Depot's business hours?
    • Business hours for the Depot are 0600 to 1700 Monday through Thursday. For hours of Installation accommodations please see local accommodations link.

  • Do you process DEERS and CAC ID cards?
    • We are able to process all retired military, military, military family, CAC and DEERS updates.
    • Point of Contact 530-827-4266 Monday through Thursday 0700 to 1600, closed on all federal holidays.

  • Is there a place to stay over-night on post?
  • What other accommodations are available within commute area?
    • Business travelers have a choice between Reno, NV, Susanville, CA and the Skedaddle Inn on post.

  • What types of recreation are available?
    • Recreation opportunities within the region are diverse. Sierra Army Depot is situated on the northeast side of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, within a short driving distance to many recreational areas.   • How long does it take to get to Sierra from Reno, NV?
    • Most travelers fly into Reno, NV. Reno is about a one hour drive for the approximate 54 miles of highway travel.
    • Susanville is about forty five minutes drive for the 36 miles of highway travel.
    • Sacramento is about three hours drive from Sierra, or 124 miles from Reno, NV.
    • The port of Oakland is a little over four hours away, with most other bay area cities within an hour from there.
  • I am thinking about relocating to the area. What resources are available?
    • The external links for the local area provide access to classifieds, real estate, visitor’s centers and a plethora of information about the local surroundings and resources.
